Laser Skin Rejuvenation

As we age the color and texture of our skin changes. Pigmented spots develop on our face, chest and hands while tiny blood vessels create red blotches on the nose and cheeks. The skin develops a dry, weathered appearance and fine lines appear around the eyes and mouth. Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) are extremely effective in reversing these changes restoring a youthful, smooth skin with an even color.

To minimize time spent away from work and social obligations while recovering from laser treatments, Dr. Ruhge uses non-ablative Lasers and IPL from Syneron. Rather than using light energy alone like most lasers, these devices use patented elōs technology that harnesses the power of both bi-polar radiofrequency and light energy. The combination provides better results, with no down time and increased safety. Three different devices are used each of which focuses on a specific component of skin aging. Treatments are tailored according to your specific needs and the condition of your skin. For even skin color and smooth texture the IPL is used while the Matrix fractional laser and ReFirme work best for treatment of wrinkles and skin tightening. For total facial rejuvenation all three treatments are combined in the Triniti procedure.

Skin Color and Texture Correction (Intense Pulsed Light/Fotofacial)

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is combined with radiofrequency for what is commonly known as a Fotofacial. The treatment targets blemishes from sun damage and aging, red blotches from spider veins and rosacea and restores skin to a more youthful state. It also erases skin texture irregularities leaving an even colored, smooth skin.
Skin rejuvenation with IPL can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands and arms. For optimum results a series of three to five treatments spaced one month apart are needed. During the treatment you will feel a sensation of warmth and tingling described as a “hot pinch” by most patients. As your treatments progress, you will notice a gradual fading of pigment and vascular defects leading to an even, smooth, youthful appearance. You may resume work or other daily activities immediately after treatment.
Treatments are usually tolerated well without topical anesthetic.

Fractional Wrinkle Reduction (Matrix IR Laser)

The Matrix IR Laser combines fractional laser energy with bi-polar radiofrequency producing deep dermal heating to effectively and safely treat wrinkles.

By using the dual technology of light energy and radiofrequency the Matrix IR laser has the unique ability to penetrate the deep layer of the skin without damaging the outer skin layer. Its effects are achieved through heating collagen deep in the skin which promotes both collagen contraction and the formation of new collagen. This results in softening of wrinkles and tightening of skin. The laser pulse is described as a pinch or a light snapping of a rubber band on the skin. The number of treatments required is based on the condition of your skin.

The Matrix IR is a non-ablative laser which is less abrasive and therefore no ointments are required while your skin heals. Fading of wrinkles and tightening of skin is seen within two to three sessions. Treatments are usually tolerated well without anesthetic, however, a topical anesthetic is available for added comfort if desired. You may resume work or other daily activities immediately following treatment.

ReFirme Skin Tightening (ST)

Refirme ST uses a combination of infrared light and bi-polar radiofrequency to effectively remodel the dermal layer of skin by stimulating collagen growth.

This causes gradual tightening of the skin giving it a uniform, smooth texture. The effect is cumulative as the number of treatments progress. Treatments are spaced three to four weeks apart. For optimum results a series of three to five sessions are required. The number of treatments is based on the condition of your skin. During the treatment the device tip is chilled to cool the skin surface on contact. Treatments are usually tolerated well without anesthetic, however, a topical anesthetic is available for added comfort if desired. You may resume work or other daily activities immediately following treatment.

Triniti - Total Facial Renewal

The Triniti total facial renewal treatment combines three different technologies in one treatment session. Each one focuses on a specific component of facial aging and their combination provides for the most comprehensive skin treatment available. The IPL restores even color and texture, Refirme ST tightens the skin and the Matrix IR laser softens wrinkles. The result is a complete rejuvenative effect on the skin resulting in a more youthful appearance. For optimum results a series of three to five sessions are required spaced three to five weeks apart.
